Where possible, we will discuss this with you first.

In line with BACP requirements, therapy work may be discussed in professional supervision. Any information shared is anonymised.

IN-PERSON AND ONLINE THERAPY

In-person therapy
Records and notes are stored securely and accessed only by the therapist.

 

Online therapy
For online sessions, we use secure and reputable platforms. Clients are encouraged to use a private and safe space. While reasonable steps are taken to protect your privacy, online communication can carry risks outside our control.

HOW YOUR DATA IS STORED AND PROTECTED

Your data is protected using password-protected systems, secure digital storage, encryption where possible, locked storage for paper records, and limited access to personal information.

HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION

Enquiry information is usually kept for up to 12 months. Client therapy records are usually kept for 7 years after therapy ends, in line with BACP guidance and insurance requirements. After this time, records are securely deleted or destroyed.

SHARING YOUR INFORMATION

We do not sell or share your information for marketing purposes.

Your information may be shared only with secure booking or record-keeping systems, professional supervisors (in anonymised form), or legal or regulatory authorities where required by law.

All third parties are required to comply with data protection laws.
