These Terms and Conditions apply to all clients who receive counselling or therapy services from Jireh Wellbing. By booking or attending sessions, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Jireh Wellbeing works in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions, which promotes respect, integrity, competence, confidentiality, and client autonomy.

2. Nature of Services
Jireh Wellbeing provides professional counselling and therapy services to support emotional and psychological wellbeing. Counselling is not a substitute for medical treatment, psychiatric care, or emergency services. We do not provide crisis or emergency intervention.

If you are at immediate risk of harm to yourself or others, please contact:

  • Emergency services (999)

  • NHS 24 (111)

3. Appointments
Appointments must be booked in advance. Session times are reserved specifically for you.

If you arrive late, the session will still end at the scheduled time and the full fee may apply.

4. Cancellations and Missed Appointments
A minimum of [24/48] hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

Cancellations made with less notice, or missed appointments, may be charged in full. Exceptions may be considered in exceptional circumstances at the therapist’s discretion.

5. Fees and Payment
Fees will be clearly explained before therapy begins.

Payment is due [before / at the time of] each session unless otherwise agreed. Unpaid fees may result in sessions being paused or discontinued.

6. Confidentiality

Confidentiality is a fundamental part of the therapeutic relationship and is managed in line with the BACP Ethical Framework and relevant Scottish law. Information shared in sessions will remain confidential except where:

  • There is a serious risk of harm to you or others

  • There are safeguarding concerns involving a child or vulnerable adult

  • Disclosure is required by law or court order

  • Information is discussed in professional supervision (with identifying details removed)

Further information is available in our Privacy Policy.

7. Data Protection and Privacy
Jireh Wellbeing complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Personal data is stored securely and only for as long as required by legal and professional obligations. You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal and ethical requirements.

8. Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate and relevant information

  • Engage respectfully in the therapeutic process

  • Understand that therapy is a collaborative process and outcomes cannot be guaranteed

9. Online and Telephone Sessions
For online or telephone sessions, clients are responsible for ensuring a private and confidential environment. Jireh Wellbeing is not responsible for technical issues outside our control. Sessions may be paused or ended if confidentiality cannot be maintained.

10. Professional Boundaries
In line with BACP ethical standards, the therapeutic relationship is strictly professional.

Dual relationships and conflicts of interest are avoided. Communication outside sessions is limited to administrative or clinically appropriate contact.

11. Ending Therapy
Therapy may end by mutual agreement, at the client’s choice, if therapy is no longer appropriate, or if fees remain unpaid. Where appropriate, we will aim to support a planned ending and provide referrals if needed.

12. Complaints
Jireh Wellbeing aims to provide a high-quality service. If you are unhappy with any aspect of the service, please raise this with your therapist in the first instance.

If the issue cannot be resolved, a formal complaints process is available. Clients may also contact the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
